Pregraduate courses
For applications for foundation courses please apply direct to the Faculty. Please submit your application form by post to the address indicated within the application form if you are applying for the following courses:
- BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design
- British Horological Institute
- Gemmological Association Diploma
- Gemmological Association Diamond Diploma
- Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design (Design Crafts)
Application form for pregraduate courses
Undergraduate
Full-time
Applications for full-time first degrees, foundation degrees or higher national courses should be made online through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), apart from:

Part-time
Applications for part-time undergraduate courses should be made direct to the relevant faculty. Application forms are available from the faculty office or can be downloaded.
Application form for part-time undergraduate courses
Postgraduate
Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
You should apply through the Graduate Teacher Training Registry (GTTR). Call +44 (0)870 1122200 for an application pack, +44 (0)870 1122205 for the helpline service or visit the GTTR website.
Law
Full time applications for the Legal Practice Course and the Common Professional Exam/Diploma in Law should be made through the Central Applications Board. Contact them on +44 (0)1483 301292. Part-time applications should be made direct to the School of Law using the application form for postgraduate courses which can be found under the 'All other postgraduate courses' heading below.
Research degrees
Application forms are available from the relevant faculty's Research Degrees Coordinator or from the Research Officer at the Academic Registry. To discuss your research interest, please contact the appropriate faculty.
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants course/s (ACCA/MSc)
Applications for the ACCA/MSc course/s can be made via the ACCA Online Application Form.
Birmingham City Business School (MSc/MA)
Applications for the Business School MSc/MA courses can be made via the Postgraduate Online Application Form.
All other postgraduate courses
Applications for all other postgraduate courses should be made direct to the relevant faculty. Application forms are available from the faculty office or can be downloaded.
Application form for postgraduate courses
On receipt, your application form will be forwarded to the Course Admissions Office for consideration. If you’re called for interview you should send the department a copy of the most up-to-date student summary sheet in your Record of Achievement. Do not send the original. Please bring along any specified items and be prepared to discuss them with the interviewer.
After interview, if you’re considered suitable for the course, you will receive an offer of a place, which may be conditional upon your obtaining certain qualifications. The conditions will vary between courses and even within courses, depending upon evidence of your motivation, commitment and previous academic record.
We will send you an offer letter plus an information booklet telling you more about us and outlining the next steps in the application procedure.
