Research Office
The Research Office supports our research community by:
- Identifying and directing staff to the most appropriate sources of research funding for their projects;
- Providing information on news, policy, and events on current and upcoming issues relating to all things research;
- Bid preparation including dummy review panels; facilitating and monitoring internal bid processes and authorising the electronic submission of proposals to RCUK, and other funding providers.
- Supporting subscriptions, highlighting available resources and regular bulletins for Research Staff and Research Students:
- ResearchTM
- CORDIS
- Internal research newsletters
- Ensuring there is a range of online support and resources available, including information about policies and procedures, funding opportunities and research ethics.
The Research Support team helped to shape the University’s new Research Strategy and were involved in the initial setting up of the Research Centres of Excellence. The team will continue to support the Centres, in particular, when working on the 2013 REF exercise.
