Moving to a new country to take up a place at university can be a daunting prospect, which is why we provide you with a full range of support throughout your time at Birmingham City University.

Our dedicated team of International Student Advisors will be able to help you with all aspects of settling in to life in the UK and any problems you may experience.

These pages outline some of the areas we can offer support, including visa and immigration issues, what you need to know if you’re planning to work during your studies, a checklist of things you need to do in your first few weeks in the UK and advice on dealing with the culture shock of moving to a new country.

Our International Student Advisers are part of the Student Services team, which offers advice and support to ALL our students on matters such as finance, health and wellbeing, careers and job prospects and child care.
