Register with the Police
If you are required to register with the Police it will state ‘Police Registration within 7 days’ on your visa. If it states this on your visa then you must register with the Police within seven days of arrival in the UK. This is a legal requirement. You will be given information about police registration at your enrolment.
Your passport will be checked at enrolment and if you need to register with the Police you will be given information about how to do this. You will be given this link to iCity to the information you need which is on Birmingham City University’s iCity intranet site. You will get access to iCity when you pre-enrol.
The link tells you what documents you need to register with the Police, where to go and what to do. It is very important that you visit this site and read the information carefully as soon as you can after enrolling.
You will need to inform the police every time you change your address or course and every time you are granted an extension of your permission to stay in the UK. This is a legal requirement. Student Services can give you information on how to do this.
Please note, if your visa does not state that you must register with the Police then you do not have to do this.
