Booking Your Accommodation

Here are the steps that you need to take in order to get University and Private Halls accommodation:

  • STEP 1 – First thing you need to do is to read the details of the accommodation on our website to identify your hall preferences, as typically students choose University or Private Halls close to their campus of study.
  • STEP 2 -  You can ONLY apply for University and Private Halls accommodation after you have received and accepted an unconditional offer for a programme at the University.  Your University offer letter will include your Birmingham City University Application Number (Student ID).
  • STEP 3 -  You register on our Online Accommodation Services website, completing the Personal Details Section quoting your University Application Number (Student ID), Surname/Family Name and Date of Birth. Then complete Login Details which requires your current email address and a password. Please make a note of your Login Details you will need these again. .
  • STEP 4 – After Registering for the Accommodation Online Services you will receive two emails one saying you have registered successfully and another giving you a Validation Code. You will need this code for Step 5.
  • Step 5 You now login on the Online Accommodation Services website by using the same registered Login ID, Password mentioned in Step 3 and the Validation Code which you would have received by email.
  • Step 6 You will now be presented with a menu to the left hand side of your screen. Please select Applications from here.
  • Step 7 You can now compete your online accommodation application. You can see the progress of your application at any time by using the same login details.
  • Sept 8 Allocations will start end of May when you will receive email correspondence regarding your offer of accommodation. You will now have to follow the step by step instructions within that email to accept your accommodation offered
  • STEP 9 -  If you do not receive email correspondence regarding your offer of accommodation after this time, then contact the Accommodation Services Office.
  • Step10 As part of the acceptance of the accommodation offer process for University Halls you will be asked to make an advance payment. You may wish to include your tuition fee and the advance accommodation payment together. If payment is made by bank transfer then it is important that you complete the Notification of Payment by Bank Transfer Form and send it a copy Accommodation Services. The University's bank details are as follows:

Please do not send the University any monies for accommodation if you are offered a room in Private Halls. You will receive a separate email from Birmingham City University if your offer of accommodation is in Private Halls. Please follow the instructions within that email to accept your offer of accommodation and do not log back into the Birmingham City University Online Accommodation Services website once a room offer for Private Halls is received otherwise this will confuse you.
