Leading UK Training Centre

- Client: Cisco Systems Inc
Birmingham City University has enjoyed a highly effective and fruitful partnership with Cisco, which now spans over 10 years. During this time, the University has built upon the strengths of its initial relationship and has now cemented its position as Cisco’s leading training centre for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
In underpinning this role, Cisco invested over $1 million of new equipment at the University’s Faculty of Technology, Engineering and the Environment. This major development allowed the University to support and train instructors from more than 300 academies throughout East and Western Europe, including Russia.
The backing and trust established through this partnership has brought many, wide-ranging benefits for the Faculty’s students conducting undergraduate and short courses at the Faculty’s City Centre Campus at Millennium Point. Students have also benefitted from an enriched and relevant curriculum which has helped provide the valuable opportunity of being able to impact, directly, the learning the students are given. As a result, students have been given opportunities to learn about real customer issues and cases in the UK market, which has helped them get more insight into career paths within IT.
