Equality and Diversity
A message from the Chair of the Board of Governors
Birmingham City University is a vibrant and diverse community of individuals who, by working together and united by common ambition and common goals, have the power to create a truly inspirational place of learning and research and be an exemplar for student and employer engagement.
As Chair of the Board of Governors, I believe the University’s commitment to equality and diversity is rooted in the way we value and support all students and staff. We believe that the opportunity to benefit from the transformational experience of a university education should be accessible to all who have the intellectual ability to do so, regardless of race, colour, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, family circumstances, citizenship, social and economic status, or any other irrelevant differences.
