BA (Hons) Acting
A three-year degree course for students aged 18+ who wish to pursue a career as professional actors.

PG Dip / MA Acting
A one-year post graduate course for students who wish to pursue a career as professional actors. The course is aimed at students who are higher education graduates or have appropriate and relevant performing experience.

BA (Hons) Community and Applied Theatre / Dance Theatre
A new and exciting course offering a stimulating and practice based training that will prepare students for a career within community theatre or community dance theatre, providing the possibility to work as writers, choreographers, devisors, workshop facilitators, or performers.

BA (Hons) Stage Management
This course is aimed at those who wish to work within company, production and stage management and will offer a thorough vocational training in aspects of technical theatre.

PG Dip Physical Theatre
The PG Dip in Physical Theatre offers an advanced, intensive, practical training for actors who wish to further their skills in making work that is fully physically expressive and creative.

PG Dip / MA Professional Voice Practice
Developed with the support of the Royal Shakespeare Company, this course is intended for graduates who wish to undertake advanced studies in voice in order to pursue careers as voice professionals, who seek specialised practice and study in voice and speech.

PG Dip / MA Acting: the British tradition
Starting in October 2009 this new course offers those with a passion for live performance opportunities to explore the great British tradition of non-realistic acting methods. From Shakespeare to the pantomime, Restoration Comedy to contemporary situation comedy, the British tradition of acting focuses on the importance of narrative and the actor’s relationship with the audience.

   
Training Philosophy
The school's training philosophy, student services and opportunities for students are consistent across both full time courses.

Living Accommodation
Living accommodation can be provided through either a service organised by our own student union or from halls of residence provided by the Univrsity. The majority of students are housed in shared flats and houses through the student union service. Halls of residence are only available to first year and diploma students. 

Buildings & Facilities
The School is located in the city centre, providing more than 30,000 square feet of space.  The School's headquarters, at Millennium Point, is part of the Thinktank, Technology Innovation Centre, Marketing Birmingham and IMAX Cinema complex.  The school moved to its new £4million purpose built premises in September 2006.  The new building provides state of the art facilities for the training of our students.
